BABIES, CHILDREN & MOTHERS
Pregnancy may significantly increase body strain, as a women creates a baby and transforms to make room within her body as is needed. Babies are in a rapidly growing and building stage of life, needing gentle and tentative care to thrive and maximise their potential. Children’s bodies are constantly changing and forming in response to their environment and daily activities. All three life stages can be gently supported through Craniosacral therapy as it enhances the functioning of the central nervous system and the body’s innate ability as it seeks balance and adjusts into optimum health.
FAQ
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
It is a non-invasive gentle body modality with the intention of working with the central nervous system in its parasympathetic state (rest, digest and building resources) by listening and following the current circumstances. Its roots, like those of House of Osteopathy are in the indigenous Cherokee Bodywork and Healing Arts that Dr Still spent 20 years with on the Shawnee Tribes Land Reservations.
It is effective through its gentle way of engaging the body systems to bring into focus the body’s natural and innate forces that seek balance so reorganization is encouraged, pressure may be released and inflammation reduced. This enables all systems to enhance functioning within and between themselves.
The Anatomy of the CranioSacral system is formed by the bones of the cranium, spine, sacrum, membrane system, cerebrospinal fluid and fascia of the body. William Sutherland observed through scientific method the movement of the cranial bones along with the involuntary yet rhythmic flow within the cerebral spinal fluid. Craniosacral Therapy follows and listens to these moving parts and fluid systems to enable relaxation, release points of tension and bring in alignments that will support improving the health of all body systems.
