Cranio Sacral Therapy

WHAT IS CST ABOUT

ABOUT CRANIO SACRAL THERAPY

Craniosacral Therapy brings awareness into the body systems, while a person is in a state of deep relaxation. On a scale of Osteopathic practices, CranioSacral therapy has the gentlest approach, which is based in following and listening to the body on its own terms and bearing witness to the innate body intelligence. Approaching the central nervous system in this way,  can gently and efficiently bring balance, symmetry, health and mobility back into the body. Enabling points and patterns of tension that have been held, to be released, unwound, and reorganised. Each personal experience is unique and reflective of the individual’s life story.

DURING THE SESSION

WHAT TO EXPECT IN A TREATMENT

A treatment generally takes place with the client lying on their back, preferably in comfortable clothes and their shoes off, on an adjustable couch. Gentle contact may be taken along the body in places that have come to the awareness of the therapist. It is a good idea to avoid alcohol, caffeine, and strenuous exercise while increasing your water/caffeine-free-tea intake following a treatment. It is encouraged to adapt the rest of your day in response to how you are  feeling after a treatment.

about the session

HOW DOES IT WORK

The central nervous system is composed of the brain and spinal cord which is suspended and bathed in the cerebral spinal fluid, and it has its own ever-shifting electrical pulse. Viewing the brain and central nervous system as the body’s computer and wiring system, it becomes easier to understand how every action, sensation, thought, reflex, emotion, and memory (conscious or unconscious) passes through the Craniosacral system. Then the electrical flow and magnetic fields of the body can be understood as the software of the body, where shifts, changes, and ‘updates’ can occur with a potency that influences all systems of the body. Therefore, as the flow of Cerebrospinal Fluid is enhanced in a treatment, one can experience a release of tension, stress, and/or inflammation within one, tw,o or more body systems and structures.

DURING THE SESSION

POSSIBLE RISKS AND SIDE EFFECTS

Each experience will be unique and reflective of the individual’s personal life story.  After a session most people experience a deep sense of relaxation. However, some may experience dizziness, tiredness, feeling lightheaded or some mild discomfort after a session. While others may experience feeling energised, relaxed and find they have increased flexibility in the body. It is recommended to adjust your following activities and plans to suit how you are feeling, allowing the body to integrate the treatment into all aspects of the mind and body.

TESTIMONIAL

WORDS FROM OUR HAPPY CLIENTS

Gabriella is a gifted and intuitive practitioner. I’ve been to many different versions of cranial osteopathy and other similar practices over the dedicated and she is one of the more “potent’ that I've experienced. Beyond just the manipulation she is intuitive and picks up on energies surrounding you as you are being treated. This is not hype, this is me giving my honey feedback after my session with her

Remi Film Producer and Director

I was stressed. I went to the Studio to try CranioSacral Therapy. After the session I was feeling (difficult to explain) something like flying really light… I went back other times. It was really helpful!!! The therapist knows what she is doing and is professional. I just want to give five stars. Thank you so much!

Stefano Bolliger Designer from Switzerland

It has been such a blessing and relief to find a practitioner who truly understands the complexity and stress of living in the bustling metropolis of Lagos, Nigeria. Gabriella provided exceptional support during a profoundly challenging time in my life, helping me navigate post-COVID anxiety and deep, overwhelming grief. Her professional, compassionate, and gifted approach created a safe and non-intrusive environment to address and release deep-rooted emotions. For anyone experiencing stress or emotional struggles, I cannot recommend Gabriella enough. A series of sessions with her is truly transformative and invaluable.

FAQ

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

It is a non-invasive gentle body modality with the intention of working with the central nervous system in its parasympathetic state (rest, digest and building resources) by listening and following the current circumstances. Its roots, like those of House of Osteopathy are in the indigenous Cherokee Bodywork and Healing Arts that Dr Still spent 20 years with on the Shawnee Tribes Land Reservations.

It is effective through its gentle way of engaging the body systems to bring into focus the body’s natural and innate forces that seek balance so reorganization is encouraged, pressure may be released and inflammation reduced. This enables all systems to enhance functioning within and between themselves.

The Anatomy of the CranioSacral system is formed by the bones of the cranium, spine, sacrum, membrane system, cerebrospinal fluid and fascia of the body. William Sutherland observed through scientific method the movement of the cranial bones along with the involuntary yet rhythmic flow within the cerebral spinal fluid. Craniosacral Therapy follows and listens to these moving parts and fluid systems to enable relaxation, release points of tension and bring in alignments that will support improving the health of all body systems.
